Thumbs Up Re: STA shuts down !!!!!!

That's the way I read it, too, George. "Pro bono." No charge. As if WLD weren't already heroic enough in my eyes! LOL

After searching for months for one who would, I was ecstatic that they would take our case on a contingency basis. I found them through a discussion regarding SI (WLD issued a $100K bounty on the perps of that scam).

I hope any press releases issued by Matrixwatch volunteers will give credit where it is due.

"contingency" means "depending on the outcome". In this case it would mean that the lawyers would be paid depending on the outcome and their pay would be a percentage of whatever that outcome is before it's distributed to the members of the class action suit.

Smile Re: STA shuts down !!!!!!

The original agreement stated that WLD wouldn't charge unless/until they obtain the desired result - and that they would charge 33% of whatever amount they are able to recover. This defines the typical "contingency" agreement.

However, the statement that they're doing it "basically as a public service" seems to indicate that, either there is no money to recover, OR they have decided to donate their services for the sake of benevolence and/or publicity. This is commonly referred to as "Pro bono."

The good news is that, hopefully, WLD has uncovered enough evidence so that no witness testimony will be needed in court.

The bad news is that Inman might have spent all, or most of, his ill-gotten gains. If there is anything left to recover for us, I will consider it "icing on the cake." The "cake" being, of course, that Inman is prosecuted. )

Been a "victim" since 2004,anyone know what the tax implications might be,or what steps should be taken.I realize no one is a tax expert and no general advice would be taken as involvement against those who choose to state their opinions, thanks.

MW fighting STA is like monkeys playing chess, using members for the pawns.

Default Clarification -

Hi There --

Matrix Watch is not fighting STAy
Matrix Watch is simply providing a place for folks
that lost in this scheme to gather info, file complaints
and generally stand against the mega Ponzi YMMSS / STAy

Lot's of motivated individuals there not to mention
the many hundreds whom are taking their own actions
independently of Matrix Watch.

I would think the most promising solution for
Mr Inman is to go on the lamb -- although I would
think that life after awhile not very satisfying either.

Monkeys playing chess -- you made me smile thanks
however time will certainly tell whom the real monkey's
are -- I hope they get used to the idea of living in
captivity --

Best Regards,
Michael
