Default YMMSS / STA / Success Through Advertising accounts

We were told in 2005 that if we stopped reading ads, our accounts would not receive any more payments. The account would go dormant.

Many assumed that this meant they could forget about YMMSS. Then came the 1099's from STA and people thought...huh? What is Success Through Advertising? When they realized it was YMMSS, they were shocked to find out that the directive of no further payments was a lie. Also they know that these ad credits they received are worthless to them. The fight now is through the IRS to get the 1099 adjusted by STA to reflect the true zero value received.

What is frightening about this is that we cannot close these STA accounts!
I have confirmed with STA help desk that my account is not closed even though I ordered it closed last December.

This means that they could send me another 1099 from that account for whatever amount they want to trump up any year in the future.

STA is a scam and I do not want to be associated with them further, but I cannot get them to remove that account associated with my personal info from their system.

EEK! Re: YMMSS / STA / Success Through Advertising accounts

Same here, Cheryl. I've never been in pit of quicksand, but it seems easier to get out of than this mess has been!

STA has stated that '07 would be the last year for 1099's issued on WAC from the AT. However, I've lost count of how many times they've "changed the rules in the middle of the game" - and ALWAYS in their favor - so it wouldn't surprise me to see another 1099 next year IF we don't do something about it NOW.

STA TAX FRAUD - COMPLAINT TO IRS

Also, I will be monitoring my credit reports for more STA fraud.

There are some other legal actions going on as well. I have provided the lawyers information related to that. I hope the lawyers will publicly post more soon.

Angry Re: YMMSS / STA / Success Through Advertising accounts

Yes Sheryl, Same here......When I received a 1040 from 2005 I told my mom to stop reading ads and not go to her account in 2006 and was told that if the account hasnot been active for 3 months that it would be closed. When she received a 1090 for $1600.00 she emailed the help desk saying that she thought that her account was closed. They responsded that it was visited last in August 2006. Its been 7 months and we received an e-mail that her account was still active.

STA has caused so much heartake for me , my mother and the 3 co-workers that I sponsored. STA has got to be brought to justice. If STA saw this coming if they really cared for its memebers they would have let the company fold and save us all these problems......

Couldn't agree more, Simba. By all indications, STA won't stop abusing its members nor cease holding us captive. We must escape (with help from the law)!

Did you see my response to you in the Esto's Testimony thread? It is almost time to make the call to the IRS about STA.

Many friends and family have been torn apart due to the stress this company has caused. We are as a family unit and we care so much for each other and for our emotional spiritual and physical well being. Thanks for your post.
