I need to know if this sounds like a scam or anything illegal.

Hello, I pasted a copy of an email that was sent to me by a gentleman from a company called Nicotrans, or Necotrans. The position is basically a middleman to collect payments from their customers, i guess here in the US and wire them to the company because he claims they are having problems receiving payments here in the US. I also have attached a copy of the contract they want me to sign to come aboard and take this position. Could you have a look at this and tell me if you think its legitimate. I would greatly appreciate it.

activities and duties of a Financial Manager.

As You already know Nicotrans Line provide freight
forwarding & logistic services to our customers. Also our
firm is engaged in realization of remittances, connected
with payments from our clients by means of the
E-currencies and mediates in the international financial
transactions of a different sort.

Our Headoffice is located in Moscow, Russia. We also have
representative offices in Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine,
and Azerbaijan. Though most our clients are companies from
former USSR, we expanded our business to Europe and now
are planning to open representative offices in France and
US within the coming two years. On 01/01/07 we had 24
employees spread over the 10 countries of Western Europe -
their functions are similar to Financial Manager position,
but it differs according to vernacular features of
countries. In USA & Canada 5 people work for us as
Financial Managers - our sales department prognoses the
growth - so our chiefs decided to enlarge our oversea
staff (to 12-15 employees) The same offers were sent to 20
candidates, whose resumes on Careerbuilder and similar
sites had been scrutinized by our chiefs. 8-10 of them
will be accepted for employment in Nicotrans Line as our
Financial Managers.

Currently we're facing problem of getting Wire Transfers,
Check and Paypal payments - the most of these options are
not represented in Russia yet or lead to incredible
charges. Many of our clients prefer paypal payments,
another ones can wire funds or send checks. These ways are
unacceptable for us - paypal isn't represented in Russia,
international bank transfers take great fees and not so
fast as in-country wire transfers. On the other hand we do
not want to loose a significant number of potential
customers and make our internal difficulties go public.

Position of our financial manager (independent contractor)
requires reception and duly accomplishing of instructions
from our office coordinators, so it is necessary to
receive e-mail some times a day and to answer phone calls
during day. You will receive payments from our clients to
Your account and after the withdrawal the money should be
sent to our abroad agents either via the Western Union
money transfer service or via the Money Gram
postal/financial transfer office. These services are most
popular and convenient in today's world of intense
financial activity and the purpose of increasing the
customers' satisfaction. We need Your assistance in order
to fasten process of the receiption funds for our services
and to avoid problems of getting international
transactions.

The position is based on salary 3,000 USD per month (on
conditions that Financial Managers process minimum 3
transfers per month). Plus You will have a bonus from 40
USD to 70 USD for every processed payment (depending on
performance of Financial Manager) Approximate quantity of
transactions per week depends only on Your skills. We
offer competitive compensation, commission, and expense
reimbursement - our firm will reimburse You for any
services costs or transaction fees charged by bank,
Moneygram, Western Union or PayPal - You will simply
deduct the fees from the amounts before sending our
client's payments to our sales department managers

Your activity in our firm will take no more than 8-10 hours
per week - and approximately You bear the responsibility
for safety of this money. All transactions will be
arranged by our sales department, so You will only have to
take care about the transactions. We also examine the money
origin and the customer's honesty to provide legality and
safety of our business for all our abroad employees. Our

It is a common scam--report it to your local FBI office or simply throw away the email.

If it's a scam, so is YMMSS/STA.

That would be JUSTICE if that would happen. Not just somebody, but a number of people going go to jail as well.

Lately though, the "silence" in here (and in MW) makes some of us wonder what's up with the case(s) against YM/STA. I can only hope it's the calm before the storm.

Ahhh....looks like those 1099's have broken the silence.
