My MIL died over a year ago, leaving each of her 5 children each 100 acres of land.
She also owned a house that sits on 40 acres. My BIL has been living in that house since before and after she died, and he has never paid a nickel. Now the property taxes for that 40 acres with the house sitting on it is due, and each sibling is to pay 1/5th of the property taxes. I know that they can decide what to do with the house, and it was their decision as well to allow their brother be a welfare case, but is there something that I can do for myself, since I don't own this land? Is there any law that protects me from having to pay this? |
