I am the beneficiary in a will that has been filed in IL and in probate. The Co-executor is threatening to 'petition the court to have my share donated to charity' and making harassing phone calls of a similar nature to another beneficiary. We have saved the messages left by the Co-executor, and the other Co-executor has not returned my call. At a minimum, I would like to have the Co-executor doing the harassing removed, but my share of the estate is not enough to have a lawyer on retainer. This Co-executor has also misspent around $4000 of the estate and completely drained the account in the 10 days the account was open after the decedent's passing. There is a piece of property sold prior to the decedent's passing, but papers were not signed until after (this being the money in my share). Do I have any recourse without having to get a lawyer?
