Unhappy mimififi

HI, i cared for my mother,(leaving my partner and home, as i live in spain) for 8 months until she died with cancer in england, my mother changed her will two and a half months after i arrived, when it was dicovered that my sister had been forging my mothers signiture to obtain money from her bank, my sister was left 20,000 pounds and the rest of the estate is to be shared between my brother, the executor, and myself, as the sole beneficiaries. The flat that my mother owned, is for sale, and resently i have asked for an account of my mothers estate, now i learn that my mothers shares have been given to our niece, ( the daughter of our sister that stole from my mother) this, i have been told, was given to her as a gift before my mother died, and therefore was not put on the list of probate. Now, what i can't understand, is when and how this took place as, my mother asked me what i thought of this idea of this gift as she had been very upset to learn that my sister had stole from her, hence the change of will, and that she was sure that her grandaughter was "in on it", well, i don' think so, but told my mother that i could not give my opinion , she had to do what she wanted, which at that time was i believe not to. This took place about two weeks before my mother died, I was with her all the time and know that this did'nt take place. my question is, does there need to be proof of this? as at the moment, other than my brother handing it over, i can't understand how this happened.
