EEK! Executor in Oregon---Spouse

Can a wife be executor of her husband's will and still be sole heir in Oregon?

My husband has asked that I, as his wife, be sole beneficiary in his will but most wills for Oregon also ask for an executor. I was told once that in Oregon, an executor of a will cannot inheritant. We do not have a big estate, just a few vehicles, bank accounts and a life insurance policy. Though we have been married 33 years, most everything is in his name so he wants to make sure I am taken care of and there are no problems. We have three adult children who will not receive anything more than some mementos as we do not really have anything. Please answer as soon as possible, we have made out the will but it has not been signed yet.
Thank you
