Question life estate

i bought a house that use to belong to my mom,i went to a bank and got a 30 year mortage.she wanted a life estate,basically saying she could stay in the house untill her death she typed it up i signed it and it was filed at the county clearks office,is this a legally binding contract????

It normally is a valid deed and agreement--and does govern if you all agreed and signed.

Strange question really. If you have filed the deed granting the property to you and a life estate to your mother with your county, why are you now questioning it's validity? Did you not file it timely? And is she now deceased? Thus your predicament? Typically such an instrument would have been handled by an attorney, it's rare for a person to be familiar with the concept of life estate and yet be uncertain if what they theoretically got their Mom to do is actually valid.

nothing was put on my deed!!i only signed a piece of paper she printed up no lawyers involved saying she could stay here till her death with no bills,she filed it at county clearks office thats it. so to me it is not valad at all correct? thank you for your time
