I wish to inform you that if the estate of your bf is in probate, you can go to the Superior Court in the county in which he lived, and ask to see the file pertaining to the probate. The file will include all the documents that have been filed in the case including the Will. The law in California requires that notices be sent to all of the heirs of the decedent, beneficiaries who are mentioned in the will, and proposed executors. The date and time of the hearing and the courthouse where the case will be heard will be stated in the Notice.

You need to see a probate lawyer in California, with a copy of the will which you should be able to get from the probate court. If the provision of the will granting property to you is going to be contested, you need to know what your rights are and only a probate lawyer who has seen the will -- who represents you and not someone else -- can advise. |

If the attorney has contacted you then what you have inherited is not in doubt. If the family tries to block it then you need an attorney. Contact the attorney that called you and see what your next step is.

You just need to keep in touch with the executor, or you can get an attorney yourself who can assist you with all the legal procedures you need to undertake in order to obtain what are stated on his will.
