Confused I've filed a small estate... now what?

My father died in 2006. I found the forms for a small estate affidavit and filed them myself. They were signed by a judge last week and I got copies. My question is: now, am I required to pay off all of his debts? I read somewhere that I should post something in a newspaper. I'm just not sure where to go from here. Any help is appreciated.

Those forms should have instructions for you to follow; call back to the clerk of the judge and they will also have instructions; you do need to pay off debts if assets exist.

how can i find out what was done with assets from an estate a family kept and will not sell to satisfy creditors or even people hired to move about a million dollars worth of assets to their home? there is labor owed, there is material owed and the trust executor was driving the hummer even after the first attorney told him he could not do that.
