My mother passed away last month after a battle with Kidney desaese. She was in the middle of a divorce with her adulterer husband. My mom had not legalized any of the divorce and had no will that expressed her wishes. Her husband is willing to share her IRA account with her kids, but wants us to sign a agreement that we would not get anything else. Are we legally entitled to any of her possessions?

Yes in most most states the law will require that the spouse get a portion and the kids will get a portion.
But it may best not to sign anything until you have a lawyer look over what is happening. At least have the lawyer briefly examine the situation. |
