My dad passed away in FL and I have a last will originated in NY over 20 yrs ago that names me as executor. In order to be named executor should I get a court order in NY or FL ? His home and all assests are in Fl. He had a registered significant other as well who thinks she should settle all his affairs.
How do I go about finding a lawyer in FL if I need to? |

You may have some issues locally if real property is involved. You could consult your NY estates lawyer briefly and he will tell you what parts if any need to be resolved locally in Florida.
