Can anyone shed some light on California law regarding privacy, confidentiality, disclosure of a parent's will before their death?
Mother set up what she calls a Special Needs Will (Brother is developmentally disabled and cannot care for himself). One family member has a copy but states she cannot share it with me even though I am the daughter and will play a role that is specified in the will. Mother is 80 - we'd like to know what is specified so we can understand what additional planning may be necessary on our part or what steps we must take. We just don't know what we have to work with for my brother. Is the other family member who has a copy legally bound to not disclose? Thanks in advance. |

Why can you not ask mother? She is the one that decides if you see it for now.
