Angry Two wills, three kids, big fight

We live in CT. My in-laws, Bob and Sue made out wills leaving everything equally to their three children. Bob got sick and against his wishes he was put on Title 19, assigned a conservator, and put in a convalescent home. He died in Jan of 2006. Sue recently passed away and the son still living at home with her produced anew will dated May 2005 leaving everything to him. I have two questions. When the new will was made out, if the home Bob and Sue shared had not yet been solely deeded to Sue, can she have legally made out a will that cancelled out the original wills they made? Also, the lawyer that made out her new will was the same lawyer that was assigned as conservator over Bob. It was a very contentious battle, as Bob did not want to leave the home. Can the same lawyer be on two sides of a situation such as that? She was Bob’s conservator but also representing Sue’s interests in having Bob removed from the home and the wills changed to benefit one of the three children, totally against Bob’s wishes.

The lawyer should not have done that and you certainly could challenge the will.

She can make a will that governs what she may own in the future.

It sounds as if the will was indeed made under odd circumstances and that is reason to invite a challenge.
