Default Probate Question

I hired my parents' attorney to handle the probate process. I am the Executrix of their estate, specified in the Last Will and Testament, and the only heir. This is specified in their Will and Letters Testamentary from the Court.
The lawyer gave me some bad advice, but all of a sudden, she tells me she has no recourse but to petition the court to sell their house at public auction at the Courthouse. There are NO outstanding bills against the estate.
Doesn't she work for me, since I'm paying her fee? Can she jerk me around like this? I have a contract on the sale of the house, and the closing is set for June 8.
Can I tell her to back off, that she works for me? What authority does she have over me?
State of Tennessee
