Hello,
I really need your help, i am an asian and my bf is a white basically from Isle of Man but living in england with his family and runs a company with his brother. We have been together for over 4 yrs now and we love eachother so much that we decided to get married after my graduation. He worked under his brothers guidance in their company untill he turned 21 which was On 9th feb 2009 and was given the position of joint owership of the company only on singing his late father\'s will. And this is what he says..... \"I had often wondered why my Brother has never married Carol, I found out today, from our Lawyers, that he cant marry her at all, if he is to marry, according to the wishes of my late Father, he has to marry a Manx girl, a female from The Isle Of Man, if he marries any other person, not from the Isle Of Man, then he loses all rights to run the Company that our Father left us. Today, in my Contract, it held the same condition for myself and I was not prepared to sign my new Contract and offered my resignation from our Company. The Lawyers then told me, if i resigned then my Brother would also lose control of his share of the Company and the Lawyers would appoint their own General Manager, to run the Company as per my Father\'s wishes. My hands were firmly tied, if i resigned my position to be married to you, then my Brother would also lose his position as joint head of the Company, I had no other alternative but to accept and sign my new Contract\" Please tell me is there any way we can break his fathers will, please help soon as possible. |

You should have your own lawyer review the terms closely. Such clauses are often against public policy these days and you may be able to void it.
Email world law on their home page to discuss as well if need be. |
