Confused Probate

My mother passed away last month in MI. From what I understand by the Executrix, I and my son are named in the Will to receive a small amount of money, but the house was still in my parents name. My mother's caregiver/neighbor, who is also the Exectutrix, gets everything else.

How does that work with the house? Will I be notified by the court or the attorney what is going on since I live in TX?

Do I have any rights as a legal heir?
