I am 56 yrs old and recently found out my astrained father has died. There has always been a question if he really was my father but I carry his name on the birth certificate. As far as I know he had one other child after me from another marraige who is living. He was living alone when he died in his own home. I do not know if he had a will. Would I be able to make any claims on his property, will (if there ever was one) etc.

If a will exists, it governs normally; but if he did not have a will yes you could be entitled to some share by law.
