Question Aunt died intestate

My aunt died intestate at the age of 90 years . The attorney we hired will not communicate with me or my brother or sister but on rare occasions I have emailed without results .He insists that we need someone to say that they remember this person living as a family with my father . This is very difficult as she left in 1935. My mother remembers all of them .But this soes not seem satiisfactory and I have not seen any affidavit that were mailed and I dont think she is able to go to Texas. This is estate is over 1 million in cash . It seems that everything is stalled and they are waiting for the last few witness to die off. Do I need to hire another attorney and just write off the first one.

Absolutely hire a new attorney! But before anything I would advise you to call the Register of Wills office and ask the question to anyone who answers the phone, they'll tell you exactly what should happen. Who has Power of Attorney?

I agree-- get another independent lawyer to check what is really happening, verify...something seems wrong!
