Beneficiary of a trust
I recently became the beneficiary in a trust. A home was left for me but I do have to pay a specified amount for the home and have to make it my primary residence for a specified period of time. The trust clearly states that I have a choice of purchasing the home for the stated amount or decline. When I received the copy of the trust along with it came a cover letter where I was told that after I lived in the home as my primary residence that after that time a deed would be given to me in my name. The trust does not say anything about holding a deed all it says is that I pay the amount for the home and the home is mine. After several calls and pointing the fact that the trust does not say anything about hold back the deed it was agreed that upon paying the said amount that the deed would be given to me in my name.
I have several months to accept of decline what is offered to me in the deed. My question is I need some advise as what and how I should write that acceptance letter and if I should indicate that it is agreed that a deed will be delivered in my name at time of payment. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you |
