Default Michigan Wills

My childrens' father died in Michigan in February. My children live in Florida. Their father's wife stated that he had no will and left them nothing. How can they find out if 1) there was a will and 2) if there was a will, were they omitted from it? and 3) if they was no will, are they entitled to one half of their father's estate?
