Gifting foreign property
My dad is the proud owner of 23 acres of land in Kiev, Ukraine. He is now a U.S. citizen and would like to transfer or gift that land to a Ukrainian citizen. I have acquired paperwork from a local notary in Kiev which entrusts me to gift it in his name, what is the proper way to leagalize these documents in Washington state so that they will be valid here in Ukraine? Is there an easier way to get results?

You normally need to go through the apostille process.
The state office of the Secretary of State can guide you. (I would suggest you also have legal counsel in Kiev at least briefly review that transfer to ensure all is correct) |
