briefly - Aunt died in Dallas 2004 with my Father as heir - but he died (in UK) 2007 and we are now unable to finalise his estate here in UK until my Aunts has been properly dealt with.
Very poor communication with Dallas Attorney/executrix - not replying to letters, calls etc. ??Can we apply to petition for Administration & Distribution of the estate from here in UK or do we need local US legal representation - and if so, how do we go about it?? Any advice welcome |

Check with the Texas Bar Association as to a lwayer in the area where your aunt died and contact an estate lawyer there. Many states require a local lawyer to handle the estate probate as it has been found that many times it can drag on for much too long without one and this seems to be your case.

Thanks for that.
We are also concerned about the logistics of accessing Attorney services in another country - and at this point do not even know if there is any value in the estate to make it a viable financial option. Are we going to end up paying twice over for the same services? Thanks in advance to anyone taking the time to answer. |
