US postal system has many advantages. Correspondence has changed over the years with the availability of e-mail and electronic formats. Despite these changes, there are situations where only a hard-copy document will do, and the United States Postal Service continues to deliver those items via regular mail. As many entrepreneurs open home-based businesses, there are several benefits to using a post office box for mail delivery.

I'm not sure if the USPS will hold fliers and other magazines, other than ones you have a subscription for. If you count on all those mail order catalogs getting through you might want to make other arrangements.

They hold everything. We did this recently and I was assuming 4th class mail (junk, ads) would not be held but they were. Amazing how much mail one family gets in a week, 90% of which is trash!
