Confused Privileged communication

I am doing a fake interoffice memo in legal writing class about privileged communication in florida, and am having a difficult time finding information. Here's the story. Man tells wife (in front of their two minor children) that he is going to beat up the neighbor. He does it and is arrested. After a seperation, wife comes forward with this information and wants to testify against husband, can she? Did man lose his privileged status, because the children were present? They are minor children, does this matter? I've looked at florida statutes 90.504, 90.507, 90.403, and am still stuck. Anyone know the answer to this, or where I can look up these statutes with added details?
