Confused Is probation possible?

This case is in Arizona, One of my friends was found guilty by jury on a felony 2 and sent to jail, Now He has to wait for sentencing in 30 days.

He was told felony type 2 requires mandatory time in prison. Maybe after 80% of his time, He can get probation. Is this written in stone? When He goes back for sentencing, can the judge overrule the mandatory sentence asked by the plaintiff and put him on probation? Or in the work furlough program?

Is this a possibility?

Default Re: Is probation possible?

Call the DA's office to discuss. It is not necessarily so depending on what courts in AZ were involved and what was arranged.
