Default Being charged with petit larceny for stealing a bike.

I am 17 years of age. I am being charged with petit larceny for stealing a bike. I have stole no bike. When the police officer gave me the ticket I asked for there supporting deposition, the police officer told me that he himself could not give me a supporting deposition. The police officer did tell me I could get it from a lawyer or the judge. The cop also would not give me statements which aperently said I was seen riding the bike. He also told me that a few people wrote statements that said I was seen with the bike. Can they charge me just because somebody said they saw me with the bike? Please email me or just reply to the thread. despair4faction@hotmail.com

They can legally. But the prosecutor is going to want very good testimony or other evidence. That would be a very hard case to win for them if they don't have real facts and details about what supposedly happened.

But hire a lawyer if charges occur.
