Sentencing? - Statutory Rape - no force

I have a friend who's lawyer is not being particularly helpful....

We are in the UK and this is the charge he is panicking that he may go to prison, I am trying to convince him otherwise can you help?????

Statutory rape 25year old boy against 15 year old girl...who claimed to be 17 at the time.

Consensual Sex although the girl is saying that she lost her virginity at this time. And it is two counts one at the beginning of the month and one at the end of the month...at that time he was in fact going out with her girlfriend/boyfriend

Charge filed 2 years after the event

Vindictive rebuke after the girls friend was charged with GBH against the now accused's girlfriend.

Said in front of 3 witnesses that if her friend was charged with GBH then she would launch a charge against my friend...and all 3 witnesses are willing to testify.

Defendant was unaware that the girl was underage.

What do you think the charges will be if any?? He was too old (25 years old at time) now 27, for a 'young man's defence' and all his lawyer is saying is that its not serious but he is seriously suffering thinking he will go to prison.

What do you mean he is not being helpful? He needs to lay out the defense the possible conviction results and all related strategies, and the client needs to make decisions with the lawyer as to how to proceed. If that is not happening, change the lawyer ASAP.
