Question Four questions please

I have 3 previous O W I ’s and was pulled over again for suspicion of driving under the influence, after someone saw me hit some landscaping and called the police. I was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon when the officer searched my car and found a loaded, uncased .38 under the seat. I have no gun permit and it was in Illinois where that’s illegal anyway. I failed the sobriety tests due to my legal prescription medications not mixing well with the alcohol but blew under the legal limit and was not charged with a DUI. This is a still felony. I have no money for a lawyer. Will a public defender keep me out of jail? Will the first time I talk to him be the court date or can I find out who he is and meet with him sooner? While in court, can the arresting officer use something I said to him the night of the arrest if it is not in the police report? And what happens if the officer can't make it to court? Thanks in advance.

Call the public defender's office and see if they will meet with you sooner; they may agree to do so.

Stop drinking, at least whe on meds, and many of your problems will go away.

How many times does it take for you to learn from your mistakes?
