Failure to apprear for trial

I received a speeding ticket last summer. I wanted to fight it so I didn't send in the ticket, in MD they just give you a court date if you don't mail the ticket back. I moved without changing my address on my license and the notice went to my old address. I never got the notice, never went to court, my license was suspended. I was pulled over for an illegal U-Turn and then the officer saw my license was suspended. I received a ticket for "Failure to yield while making a U-Turn" "Failure to notify authorities of address change" "Driving on a suspended".

I received a court date and paid my speeding ticket the very next day. I work a lot and am kinda scatterbraied. I mixed up when my court date was. I thought it was Thursday, it was that Tuesday. When I realized this I called the number on the ticket. They told me I had a bench warrant out for failure to Appear for Trial. I went to the police station, they cuffed me, took me to booking. Processed me. I talked to the person to give me a new trial for the tickets and now the criminal offense of failure to appear.

whats the best way to handle this? I don't have any convictions or arrests on my record.

Pay the ticket and deeply apologize for not paying attention to a court matter.
