Default 3 year license suspension for 1 year probation

My ex-husband photo copied a prescription for a controlled substance and had it filled more than once. He was arrested and charged. He said that his charge was one year of level 2 probation and 3 years license suspension. Because he has his license suspended he lost his job and now can't pay child support. He lives in Delaware and I can't find out if he is telling the truth.

Everyone I ask about this says it sounds like a lot of time for him to have lost his license. And the fact that usually a judge will allow a permit for work, especially if he knows he is supporting a child. It sounds like there is more to this than my ex is telling. Can you tell me if it is likely a judge would have sentenced him that much time? Is it likely a judge would have not given him a permit to drive to work?

He does also have a previous felony drug conviction for possession of narcotics from 2002.

Ask him for a copy of the judge-signed papers and then call the court to confirm. Or you may just ask the clerk to get it if you know which court.
