a year and a half old charge

I'm a 17 year old going on trial for a possession of stolen property charge from February of 2006. The person who stole the items brought them to my house to hide them, and i let him. I was out doing community service when the police came to my house and recieved the items from my father. I missed court two days ago because my probation officer neglected to call me even though i left him numerous messages last week with my name and number requesting him to call me back, and currently I have a warrant. My questions for you are when should i turn myself in and how should i fight this, because i had just gotten off probation after a year and a half then a week later they slam me with this charge.

Tell the truth that you did not take the items and if anything just did not act when the theif came with them to hide the items.
