Confused Can you file for an appeal?

If the public defender advised you to plead guilty and you were convicted of a criminal offence and sentenced to life with mercy, can you file for an appeal ? Is there a time limit that you must file in? Thanks.......

There is an entire law practice area trying to undo pleas. There normally has to be very god reason and you have to have specialists involved to be most effective.
