Canada-May be getting charged for self-defense, I need help ASAP

Hello, I am a 15 year old male and this is what happened;

I was walking home and a 14 year old male with his 13 year old friend that I know that has been verbally assaulting me for the past few months had done it again, I then walked up to him and asked him to apologize and began asking him questions, he denied all the allegations when I clearly knew it was him and his friend as they we're the only people there at the time. After a few minutes of trying to get him to admit to the crimes he had done, my friend, a 15 year old male arrived and talked with the 14 year old males friend, the 13 year old male, just a casual friendly talk. I ignored them and began questioning him, we walked down the street and he finally began getting mad, he then pushed and shoved me as well as verbally assault me and called me quite vulgar things, he then attempted to walk away, but I had blocked his path just to question him furthermore, he then pushed me, tripped me to the ground and had gotten on top of me and punched me on the temple on the left side of my head four times, I had gotten out of the adrenaline and regained all my senses and relied entirely on my brain, I swung for his stomach and he dodged it by moving his body away from me and raised his arm for one more final powerful swing, I then grabbed the arm his was pinning me down with and raised myself with it, knocking him off balance for a few seconds, but he was getting ready to give me a powerful right to the chest, so I gave a quick but very powerful jab to the cheek, then I cocked my arm back as he was stunned and gave him three powerful blows to the forehead and jaw, and as he was stunned I gave a weak uppercut to the stomach, grabbed the back of his head and lowered it down to waist high, and gave him a quick knee to the nose, I then let him go and he ran away. As I saw it, I was provoked and assaulted, therefore I had the right to apply necessary force to protect myself from bodily harm or dead.

There we're two other witnesses at the time(My friend and his friend) and I believe he had not received any serious damages that needed medical attention.

I need to know that if I can be charged in the province of Ontario in the country Canada.

You could be charged but you seem to have an adequate explanation / defense.

You are supposed to use only enough force to stop an attack and one might argue you used a bit more than that here. So be prepared to explain that if need be.

And get a lawyer if any charges are really going to be filed.

Okay, thank you very much for your reply, I appreciate the help, and I think there is a possibility that they will not press charges due to the fact his friend was past his curfew and could be sent to prison for a while. I also think he will not press charges due to the fact that he gets into fights at school all the time and has had many run in's with the law.

The OPP called my house today and my father needs to call them back... ANY help from ANYONE would be appreciated.

He can call them but you should probably not talk to them any further unless and until legal counsel has been retained. It is much better to have somebody skilled at dealing with the police do the talking.

The police have called again today, I am to go to the police station at 7 P.M. which is in 1 hour from now for mug shots, fingerprinting, etc. Any help would be appreciated still, seeing as I do not want this on my criminal record because it will make it much harder to get a job as a paramedic...

I have been charged with assault, the police are not allowing me to counter charge and say that "Because he called the cops first" he be allowed to charge me and he will not be charged. He has also assaulted my cousin, a 13 year old male without provocation, yet my cousin retaliated by punching him back and stomping his face in, there are also many other people that have been assaulted, both physically and verbally by him, would it be much help to get these people into court to help me show the judge that he is just someone who was asking for it and provokes everyone? Would my cousin get charged as well?

For the way you dealt with what was happening both of you can be charged for assualt...
What you need to do is tell the absolute truth and take the punishment your only 15 it will be taken off your record before your done college so i wouldent worry to much about it.
Further more rember for next time have a friend call the police while the fight starts do not hit back unless absolutly needed you should have only restrained him. Instead of going over board.

They have delayed my court date and I've been waiting two months with a curfew and restrictions to seeing my best friend, this does not seem fair, is everyone not entitled to a fair and speedy trial? The police refused to give us copies of the witness' stories and I'm not sure whether to get a lawyer, because what would be the sense if I have nothing to make a defense with?
