my public defender is GARBAGE. i have a case that can easily be beaten, yet the "BEST HE CAN DO" is get me 6 months. in wich case i lose my car,apt,nd job. he has not sat and discussed my case or defense in the 4 months he has represented me. i need to file a motion of continuance to obtain a new attourney. how or what do i do?

Tell him you want him to withdraw and ask for the court to give time for you to hire counsel.
He will file asap and you will be given time; but get on it quickly and don't delay hiring counsel. |

Some are good but if they are rushed for time, it will not be to your advantage to use a PD--and reputable private counsel is almost always a better bet if at all possible..
