Question Parole

Missouri. My question concerns my son that has been sentenced to10yrs for a class A drug air traffic felony. This is the very first time he has ever been in trouble with anything. He is very educated, private pilot for single engine, member of skydive team, also is a black belt instructor for Tia Kwon Do. He got involved with a girl that had been into drugs for sometime. He was introduced to some people that dealt in drug dealing. Since he had a pilot license I guess they were paying alot of attention to him. He made a huge mistake and let other things lead him away from his values. He transported durgs out of the state. When he got back and landed, it became very clear that he was in trouble. He called me, told me he was in trouble, what he had done and that he was going to turn his self in to the authorities. He did this and ended up signing a contract with DEA to work undercover for them. He did this for almost 3 yrs, with the understanding he would get probation for his actions. At the hearings he was prosecuted in a state court with state judge and federal prosecutor. Sentence was 10 yrs prison with no parole available. He has been gone now for 1 1\2 yrs. He has a very supportive family and is very remorsefull. I am his mother and is raising his minor daughter. The mother now has no parental rights to her . I have been very sick lately and worry about the well being of her if something were to happen to me. She needs her father, I need my son. He is not a bad person, yes he made some mistakes and he knows this. Is there anything the family can do or someone else to talk to? He had a public defender due to we don't have a $10,000.00 retainer fee to pay. This was the first ime he had ever been involved in anything illegal. He is in Cameron, Mo. There is a parole hearing coming up at the end of this year and he will have served 3 yrs by this time. What can we expect? And do we have the right to be heard on his behalf? Please give me some insight.

Thank you, Wanda Yawn 417-597-8653

You can ask to be heard and friends and family are important.

Anything that helps to show stability will be useful.
