Default Wronfully charged with a crime you DID NOT commit

Once you have all the evidence and they find the actual person guilty after he admits it, can you sue? My DH has been in jail for 2 months now and will probably be there at least another 2 months. He was charged with a crime that he did not do. Unfortunately, he also was on probation for a misdemeanor and it caused a VOP. If he wasn't charged, there would have not been a violation of probation. Anyhow, he was told by others that you can sue for $400-$900 a day for sitting in jail for a crime he was wronfully accused for. We are losing the house and he is losing his landscaping business. Is this true? How hard is it to win a case like this?

Not easy to sue and win unless they really abused the process during his arrest. Simply being the wrong guy is normally not good enough unfortunately.

You could check with a few civil rights/criminal law lawyers as well locally and some do specialize in true abuse of process cases.

File a complaint with the supervisor of the person if you can truly show they filed charges for no real reason...they would be fired if that can be proven.

How corrupt could a cop be??? They are stating that the camera on the patrol vehicle is activated by the lights. Anyhow, when my husband was being arrested they say the camera shut off. This was a routine vehicle stop at night on a dark street. The officer said when he pulled up to the truck, he shut his lights off so the camera went off. What cop shuts his lights out when doing an arrest???? Therfore, they are stating there is no video of the arrest! You gotta be kidding me!!!

Are there ppl that specialize in figuring out if a video has been tampered with? If so, where so you find them and how much do they charge?

Angry Re: Wronfully charged with a crime you DID NOT commit

The attorney, my DH, and myself are so fed up! My DH's attorney again requested to see the video. The state's attorney slipped up and said they messd up the video, so now it can't be viewed at all. I can't believe how corrupt they can be. Apparently, they were trying to cover something up and destroyed the video!
