Default Bringing court case forward

My son and his mate were arrested in Maryland for Disturbing the peace (mate) and assault2 (son) for pushing some guy over(no harm done).
They were released with no bail but have to appear in court. Dates are a long way off Oct/Nov but they are from UK and have a return flight on 31st July and have to be at university in Sept. How do we bring the dates forward or can they just fly home.
