Default Confused

At sentencing if you plea bargain for a lesser sentence and sign the appropiate papers for that plea, can you be given more time than the plea? i.e. plea out and sign for 2 years and get 3

I believe that is to the discretion of the judge. If the judge does not feel the time offered on the plea suits the crime or the accused then he/she can extend the time or reduce it.

Thank you, now I maybe a little more confused, since the attorney we hired to defend had told us both before and after sentencing that it was 2 years, not 3. Is there any recourse whatsoever
