Default Indicted by grand jury

Indicted by grand jury being charged with second degree conspiracey, second degree theft by deception and third degrre offical misconduct in fraud case where teachers accused of stealing school district/state money. Facing heavy fines and possible jail time and a trial date is it best for defendants to kep distance from many friends/family members in case of information slipping out and friends/family being possible to testify against them in court.?
