My sister-in-law received a 30 day jail sentence and 6 month in-house arrest
for her 2nd DUI. She is allowed to work but needs to keep 40hrs/week in order to retain her benefits at work. I havent spoken with her probation officer but my wife has. What type of flexibility due we have in terms of working with the PO/Court with coordinating her work and commute as it relates to her hours permitted out of the house? I feel that my sister-in-law (young and nieve) is not exhausting all of her options and is accepting whatever the PO is telling her as gospel. I really just need to know if we have any flexibility in working with the hours requirement. She could take public transportation to and from her office but would need an additional 30-60 minutes a day for her commute. As it stands now, my wife needs to drive 30 minutes to her apartment every morning and another 40 minutes to get her to work. This needs to be done every night as well and I feel it creates an unreasonable demand on my wife when an additional hour a day (for commute) would solve everyones problem. |

You can definitely discuss with the PO and if that does not work write up the entire situation and go back to the judge.
