I received a ticket the other day for going 45 in a school zone. What I
am trying to figure out if if the area is legitimately a school zone. In the building marked as such is an adult school as well as a continuation high school. CA law says children must be present for a school zone to be established, but what is a "child"in CA law? The students attending are 14 +. |

If it marked a school zone call the city attorney and ask why and who established that.
They should be able to give you the legal reasoning. If not you may have an argument--though if it was marked you may still have had a duty to obey it the other side will claim. At least it could be an open issue. |
