I just recieved a notice in the mail that said because I have 3 unpaid parking tickets dated back to 2003 that my car was eligible to be booted or towed. The tickets were issued in the city of Syracuse, NY when I was going to school there but I now live in Fulton, NY which is about 55 minutes north and I never park in the city anymore. Shouldn't there be some type of statute of limitations on parking tickets, why can the city ask me for their money almost 5 years after the ticket was issued? Do I have any legal recourse to not pay these? Would they travel that far north to place a boot on my vehicle?
Thanks. |

Sometimes there is an SOL for tickets but it is often ten years or more.
May be best to just pay and be done. |
