Confused The officer did not fill out the back of my speeding ticket. Can it be dismissed?

I got a speeding ticket in Tennessee for going 80 in a 65. The officer was a state trooper. He did not fill out the back side of the ticket, where he should have put the cost of the fee. Is it required for the officer to fill that out? He also got the model of my car wrong. Is any of this strong enough to use in fighting my ticket? I do have the option of going to driving school, but I have heard that they do not actually take the ticket off of your record. If I plea not guilty, is there a higher chance of the officer not showing up since he is a state trooper? Also, if I plea not guilty will I lose my option of going to driving school?

I wish to inform you that you have to show that you were not speeding. In this regard if officer have not filled the back of the ticket then it will be considered by the court along with your arguments. In this you may argue that you were not speeding and can show wrong model of your car as an argument that officer has wrongfully given you ticket. The judge will dismiss the ticket if you are able to show that you have not violated the speed limit.

Thank you for your reply. How can I prove I was not speeding? Also, he got my plate number correct just not the car type. Does that make a difference?

In every state a license plate number is unique to a specific vehicle. The license plate number will verify your cars registration accurately. This means by searching the plate number you can find the vehicles make, model, year, color and vin number. this means that the officer correctly writing down your plate number will make you look really bad in court with your argument that he put the wrong model vehicle on the ticket. The officer writing down the wrong model of your car after looking up your license plate number only shows that hes a complete and utter idiot. Kinda like how he decided to not write down the price of the fine which i feel may do you some good in court.

Ive had 7 violations in 2 year, and im 19 years old. I know traffic laws. trust me. lol. if you need any more help, email me. alrightletsgo92@aol.com
