no operating license

Hello...i have a question regarding not having a license....i went down to a river(not park land)and was fishing...the car was locked up and keys in my pocket....a ranger approached me and asked if i had a fishing license...i told him ,no because all i had was a passport and the people at the store didnt know how to work that....so then he asked me about my driving license...i told him all my documintation ia in my other car....he said ok i got your info,and if i need to find you i know where to look(small town in md)...so i went back to the house....got my wife(she has a license)and went to try and get things worked out for fishing...anyways the same ranger pulled us(not on park land)....she was driving.....then charged me with driving with no license...he never saw me drive!!!! does this sound right to anyone???should i fight this???

The judge will figure it out as well--fight it only if you were not driving.
