Default Two identical traffic tickets

In late May I was caught by the camera when turning right on red light without making a full stop.Several days later I was caught by the same camera on the same intersection for exactly the same thing. And I received two tickets on the same day. I am a foreigner and I just arrived to California 4 months ago. And I honestly didn't know that I was supposed to make a full stop even if I'm turning right. I admit that I did a stupid thing and didn't read every signle page of DMV handbook as carefully as I should have. And I admit that I violated the traffic laws of California. But $900 sounds like way too expensive for this lesson. I was told that if I go to court and explain my situation to the judge, total fine can be lessened. What are the chances that this will happen? If there are chances, should I pay first ticket and request a trial for the second one?

I wish to inform you that you have two options. In this, in first option you may contest tickets on a basis which shows you are not liable. You can inform the judge that you a foreigner who has come recently to California. You were not aware that you had to come to a full stop even if you are turning right. You may further ask for reduction of fine in court and it is the discretion of the judge based upon facts in front of the judge to reduce amount of your fine. Seek a meeting with the Prosecutor and explain your situation to him. You may also consider traffic school. Alternatively, if you do not want to contest then you may pay the amount of fine.

Thank you very much! If i want to seek a meeting with Prosecutor, what should I do? On the back side of my tickets there are only 2 options listed - I can either pay the bail, or request a trial. I assume that I should request a trial. Is that correct? Is there any place in the web where I can read about it?

And what is the current amount of additional court cost I'll have to pay (city of Los Angeles), if I request a trial, but lose it? I the searched web-site lasuperiorcourt, org, but wasn't able to find anything

Thank you once again,

Request a trial and they will probably agree to decrease the amount due at some point.
