I received my first speeding ticket in 15 years and although I am not fighting the ticket, I would like to be able to take the driving class to reduce my points and save money on my insurance. I live in Illinois and got the ticket while traveling in Iowa. I was told by someone that I may be able to go to the clerks office where the tickets are paid and request to take the class. Is this true or will I still have to go to court and ask the judge? If I do have to go to court would it be wise to hire an attorney beings that it is out of state? Thanks for any info.

You may call the clerk and they will tell you what options exist in your case
