Mistaken Identity
Officer Smith pulled me over at a little after 5 p.m. central and charged me with not stopping at a stop sign. I was also charged for not having current insurance information. I asked for details, and he indicated that I had run a stop sign and the pulled into the Hampton Inn parking lot (where he "lost me") and then pulled back out again where he pulled me over. I have an electronic chain of evidence (hotel check-in, computer logs, e-mails and phone records) that put me in my hotel room until just before 5 p.m. I also have an eye-witness who saw me come from my room into the general area and down to the parking lot at this time. I also have a current insurance card (the one I showed the officer was expired) - it was in my car at home - which I can produce for the court. Given the evidence which proves I had just gotten into my car and thus couldn't have run the stop sign, can I get this dismissed remotely? A court appearance to include hotel\airfare is more than the ticket...but even $300 for the ticket is steep given my finances.

You will have to appear and have the witnesses do so as well.
