Can I request to view a copy of the U-turn offense?

New Jersey, Can someone tell me if I can ask to view a copy of the film when the police officer stopped me? If so, Whom do I ask? and how soon can I try to get it? This will prove that I am not guilty of the U-turn. However, I have to wonder if that lieing cop will be that stupid to file that film with this offense knowing it will show otherwise.

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez Can someone help me out here PLEASE!!!!! everyone is reading the threads and posts. However, no one is really making any comments to try to help much, execpt one person so far. This is a nightmare for me and I thought this web site could really be of some good help. If someone here reads any of my posts and think they have any good advice, can you please email me, or leave me some advice about this situation at hand.

Are you talking about the police dash camera when you refer to "film"?

Now, whether the open records laws apply to your sitation, it will depend. Otherwise, there may be other ways to get a copy of the tape (e.g. discovery -- google it). However, note that sometimes (most always) those cameras aren't rolling until after they pull you over.
