Ticket Information is Incorrect
MD - I received a ticket so the police states that I did not come to a complete stop at a red light, however in our state you can turn on right on red, I had to come to a complete stop because I needed to see if traffic was coming the other way. This officer was training another officer and was pulling mostly minorities over and all the while other cars were turning right on red without stopping. He issued me a ticket, I could not read it, however. I checked the computer system for a court date and behold. All the information was wrong. My name, address, license number, tag number, and registration number and time. What was I to do, show up and say all the information on this ticket do not register to whom I am. What do I do in this case?

Show up and argue the facts but the court will normally just correct errors on the ticket.

I assume your date of birth weight size and other information is also incorrect to. Well I guess the police officer was blind. It is no reason I see for you to show up, because it isn't you, Tags, registration, drivers license, everything is wrong. Only a fool would show up at this point. One big Hell of a mistake of the officers part.

You cannot be sure what was entered somewhere, and if the ticket was meant for you and you do nothing, it could turn to a warrant for your arrest.
...best to make sure it is thrown out in my opinion-- |

I looked the information up in the state system, everything is incorrect, name, age, dob, license number, registration number, time, tag number, I mean everything and court date passed. Even with the ticket, could not read anything either. So in the state dbase everything is wrong. Would a fool comply?

I think lawyers would tell you to address the issue, and the public would tell you don't show.
That seems to be how I read everybody's comments here. |
